Raspberry and strawberry- rhubarb nose with a touch of both mintiness and flintiness (forgive me, the lightheaded moment has passed). Deep garnet color, with a good, strong acidic backbone presaging great longevity, this medium-weight Pinot has a silky, supple texture and completely fills the mouth with a very persistent finish.
From a single vineyard of multiple pinot noir clones grown in ultra-cool Pismo Beach - if you've been in the neighborhood, you'd understand that it's strictly climate I’m talking about - this wine hits a nice middle ground between elegance and power.
Food Pairing Notes
Swedish meatballs, duck confit, roasted chicken, Brussels sprouts with uncured bacon, creamy chicken and wild rice soup.
