Popelouchum Olive Oil

We are very pleased with this small production (only 53 cases) of unfiltered extra virgin olive oil, made from a blend of olives grown at Popelouchum, Bonny Doon's estate vineyard in San Juan Bautista, and from Rancho Solo, our former estate vineyard in Soledad.
Spicy and fruity, this olio nuovo, or “new oil”, is fantastic as a finishing oil, or even for dipping with artisan bread (just sprinkle with a little sea salt).
We also recommend a Doon-ified vinaigrette, made with our Cigare Blanc Mustard. Simply mix 2 parts Bonny Doon Vineyard Extra Virgin Olive Oil with 1 part acid (lemon juice, balsamic vinegar, or champagne vinegar would all be delicious) and 1 part Cigare Blanc Mustard, and season with salt and pepper. From there, the sky is the limit on additional flavorings; shallot, garlic, honey, cayenne pepper, or fresh herbs would all make for lovely additions.
