2015 "A Proper Claret"
40% Merlot, 24% Petit Verdot, 21% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Cabernet Franc, 4% Malbec ·  91 Points, Wine Enthusiast, "Fresh-pressed boysenberry meets with jammier plum-sauce aromas on the nose of this blend of 40% Merlot, 24% Petit Verdot, 21% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Cabernet Franc and 4% Malbec. This wine offers light herbal, spice and wood aromas while the palate proves very versatile and lively, with bright, tart pomegranate flavors and a touch of purple flowers." - Matt Kettmann (Feb. 2018) · This wine is delicious with a wild mushroom risotto, roasted turkey roulade, or smoked duck. As we head in the fall and winter months, this is absolutely the wine you'd want in your glass on a chilly evening by the fire.

2013 Syrah, Bien Nacido Vineyard, “X-Block" 
100% Syrah ·93 Points, "This is a real syrah with dried meat, walnut, dark fruit and black pepper character. Medium body, round and soft tannins and a flavorful finish. Fantastic... Drink now." - James Suckling (Dec. 2017) · Pair this wine with meaty, savory dishes and aged cheeses, including roasted game, smoked meats, aged Gouda or Pecorino, roasts rubbed with Herbes de Provence, or dishes with mushrooms, including truffle. 

2011 Le Cigare Volant Réserve “en bonbonne"
37% Mourvèdre, 34% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 9% Cinsault · 90 Points, Wine Enthusiast · Beautiful, deep violet robe, not quite saturated color, but nary a trace of rust. First nose is peppermint, cherries, and of course deep, loamy earth—almost the scent of decaying leaves. What I’ve loved best about the Cigare Réserve wines is their texture—utterly seamless and sleek, and secondarily, their quality of umami, no doubt a function of the glutamate released from the autolysis of yeast cells during the élevage. The wine has a very satisfying richness, an aura of confident power and authority, but it is in noway overbearing. Ken Hoggins suggests pairing with Bon Appetit's ultimate bolognese sauce served over pappardelle, and we cannot disagree!
